HISTORY
The City/County Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program, the Initial name for the Community Recovery Center, was established in 1982 to assist individuals and their families in addressing issues related to alcohol and drug abuse and its impact, without having to travel to distant areas to secure services. Services include, but are not limited to, screenings, assessments, individual and group counseling as needed, coordination of services with other agencies, referrals to address identified needs, life skills, recovery planning and coaching, parent education groups, educational and didactic lectures and training for local religious organizations, schools, professionals and their staff.
Over the past thirty plus years the Community Recovery Center, has served and continues to serve Post and the surrounding communities by providing services to numerous clients and their families. The Community Recovery Center has recently increased its services to include educational programs for adults, adolescents and parents interested in gaining knowledge and understanding of substance abuse, its impact and the recovery process. The Community Recovery Center will continue to grow as the demands of the community dictate and will strive to meet the needs of the community.
